Want to learn more about Chiropractic and how it can help you? Here are some questions I am asked frequently, but feel free to contact me if you still have a question.

What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a healing technique that is built upon the understanding that good health depends upon a normally functioning nervous system, especially the spine and nerves extending from the spine to all parts of the body.  It is a drug-free, non-surgical therapy which utilizes non-invasive techniques to manipulate the spine and extremities.

What problems does chiropractic treat?

Chiropractic is best known as an effective treatment for conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system.  Soft tissue injuries are also very commonly treated with chiropractic and include whiplash, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and sprain or strain injuries.  More specifically, we can treat spinal disc injuries with the use of decompression.

What is Sciatica?

Sciatica is the name given to the common pain pattern seen when someone’s sciatic nerve is irritated.  This pain may radiate (travel) into the low back or down the leg.  If you are experiencing this type of pain it is very important to address it in a timely manner because there are various causes of these symptoms and some of them need immediate attention.

What will I need for my first visit?

Your doctor will need to spend time with you going over your case history, so be ready to answer questions about your present condition.  Remember to bring any recent diagnostics such as MRI reports.  After the examination you will have a discussion about treatment plans available for what was found.  It is helpful to have a spouse, loved one, or even close friend to help you absorb all of this information.
